There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is not legal. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming centers in Asia. The Naga river boat is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that contains numerous comforts on top of the gambling den, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 tables.
